Tree Harvest - Grangewood Park
Working with Mick Lorkins from More Trees Now, we were able to organise two tree harvesting sessions, rescuing saplings in Grangewood Park.
The main tree harvest event was held on 26th October 2024 and with the help of 29 volunteers, 260 trees were harvested.
The saplings were kept in a "tree hub" in Grangewood Park until the distribution day in February 2025, when residents, groups, and organisations, who wanted trees to plant could come and collect the free trees.
Many of the trees harvested have been replanted locally including trees that went to a wildlife garden project with Harlestone Manor Parish Council, and many that were planted at Haygates Farm in Market Harborough to create a space for ex military personnel suffering from PTSD to relax.
