Northamptonshire County Council is now consulting on its draft Budget for 2020/21. The draft budget agreed by Cabinet on 12th November 2019 is likely to be the County Council's final budget and lays the foundations for the transition to two new unitary authorities from April 2021. This draft budget continues the work of last year to stabilize the County Council's finances.

Due to the significant flooding on the A45 recently Highways England (as the organisation responsible for maintaining the A45) will be undertaking emergency drainage works this weekend to help mitigate the risk of flooding in the future.

Northampton Borough Council is consulting with the public over proposals for a Town Council to cover some parts or all of the existing borough.
Three options were put forward in spring this year and these have been shortlisted to two as a result of feedback received from an earlier phase of engagement.
