In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 when she was 25 years old.

To mark this exciting milestone, the Nation will come together over a four-day Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate The Queen's 70 year reign.

The May Bank Holiday Weekend will be moved to Thursday 2 June and an additional Bank Holiday on Friday 3 June will see a four-day weekend to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Jubilee Fete - 3rd June

Start your bank holiday weekend off by joining us at the Jubilee Fete on Friday 3rd June in Grangewood Park from 1.00pm – 6.00pm.

Join our community celebrations:

  • A range of tasty refreshments to include traditional Tea Tents, Coffee stand and hot food!
  • Brass and Jazz Bands
  • W.I. 'Bake Off' Competition
  • Community Competitions

Bring your own party to the park with folding chairs, your picnic and a blanket and enjoy the day with us!

The Big Jubilee Lunch - 5th June

Why not host your own street party over the bank holiday weekend, or as part of The Big Jubilee Lunch on 5th June.

If you need to close the road to hold your street party, you will need to apply for a road closure notice from West Northamptonshire Council. Please bear in mind that you should provide at least 6 weeks notice for this. For more information check out the advice on the West Northamptonshire Council website.

The Queen's Green Canopy - "Plant a Tree for Jubilee"

The parish council will be planting an avenue of cherry trees in Blacky More open space, extending into Granary East and West open space, as part of the Queen's Green Canopy project.

You can get involved in this too - plant a tree at home or encourage your community group or work place to take part.
