Annual Parish Meeting
Sat, 5th Apr 2025 14:00
This year we are celebrating 10 years of East Hunsbury Parish Council!
Come along to the Annual Parish Meeting and look back with us on 10 years of the parish council, and help us shape how we move forward keeping East Hunsbury a great place to live, work and play!
All Parish and Town Councils throughout England are required by law to hold an Annual Parish Meeting, which must take place between 1st March and the 1st June (inclusive).
The meeting acts as an annual democratic point of communication, an opportunity for the Parish Council to explain what it has been doing over the last year, and for electors to have their say on anything they consider is important to the people of the Parish.
Who can attend the meeting?
The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting of all the local government electors for the Parish, which the public are entitled to attend and participate in.
Parish Councillors will also be in attendance, and available to chat to after the presentations.
Will I be able to ask questions and make suggestions?
Any registered elector may ask questions of the Council, which may be answered at the meeting by the Chairperson, the Clerk, or a designated Councillor. Where the response required is more detailed, the Council may agree to provide a response by writing following the meeting.
The Annual Parish Meeting is an opportunity for any elector to make suggestions and comment on issues relevant to East Hunsbury and its residents.
Who will chair the meeting?
The Chairman of the Parish Council will chair the meeting or in his/her absence the Vice Chairman.
Will notes be taken of the meeting?
Yes, a written record of the meeting will be taken and presented at the next Annual Parish Meeting for approval.
What else happens at the meeting?
Local clubs, groups, and other voluntary and statutory organisations are invited to attend to talk about their work and activities over the year.
