Local Community Support
Northamptonshire’s Community resilience function continues to provide support for the most vulnerable.
The countywide Community Resilience hub was set up at the start of April to help those needing support or assistance during periods of isolation or for those who are vulnerable. As we enter a second national lockdown period, the local resilience forum wants to reassure residents that support is available for anyone who needs it.
The local Coronavirus support line ( a reminder of the details https://www.northamptonshire.gov.uk/coronavirus-updates/Pages/request-help-and-support-coronavirus.aspx) which is run by Northamptonshire County Council continues to provide support for anyone who requires help with accessing food, medication or for those who are lonely.
District and Borough teams continue to provide localised support in communities, working together with the County Council to ensure that those in all areas of the county can access support.
Although shielding has been paused, people on the new Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) list will be written to shortly. This letter will confirm that they are on the CEV list. Residents who don't receive a letter but believe that they should be on the list can register here https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-shielding-support.
Northamptonshire County Council have set up a dedicated phone line for people who are self isolating and require support. Check out their website for more information and to find out if you are able to use the service.
East Hunsbury covid -19 Mutual Aid - a group of over 200 volunteers (and growing all of the time), set up to help anybody who is self-isolating in East Hunsbury. The group are encouraging volunteers to look after their own streets first - keeping the focus small will enable us to help each other over a longer period.
Northampton Covid-19 Hardship Fund has been set up to distribute community donations to those suffering immediate hardship. Small grants (of up to £30) can be made to those in need. This is a volunteer organisation that relies solely on donations.
