Despite Lockdown - we managed to install our Community Christmas Tree. Santa himself came to turn on the lights - in secret, so as not to create a public gathering!
2000 lights - sparkling away - and the community invited to donate a Christmas bauble or two. Feedback was instant - with cars horns a-honking, and social media erupting with the news - the Tree is back!
As so many children would not get to see Santa this year - many events having been cancelled, the Parish Council made arrangements with Santa and his elves!
Children are invited to write to Santa, c/o Hunsbury Library or Blacky More Community Centre, and Santa will write back, with this special postcard.
We don't want anyone to miss out on the Christmas spirit in East Hunsbury!
Each year, our community come to decorate the tree, by leaving baubles - we love to see new ones added. This tradition only started in 2019, and is now a firm favourite with local families!
2020 brings the second annual Chairs Christmas Lights Competition for East Hunsbury!
Cllr Claire White and Cllr John Eilliot - will judge the local East Hunsbury displays, awarding a cup for the Best Street/Area and for the Best Individual House! Runners up will be awarded chocolate prizes.
The competition is partly a bit of fun, but also created to encourage neighbourhoods to work together, to meet their neighbours, and to help East Hunsbury to sparkle!
